Live streaming has a new center of gravity. In Q4 2025, TikTok LIVE crossed 10 billion hours watched in a single quarter for the first time, the strongest growth of any major platform and enough for the analytics firm Streams Charts to call it the fastest-growing major livestreaming platform heading into the new year.

From challenger to No. 2
Rewind twelve months and the story was already moving fast. In Q1 2025, TikTok LIVE logged more than 8 billion hours watched, a 30% jump over the prior quarter that pushed it past Twitch and into second place behind YouTube Live. It has held that spot every quarter since.
By Q4, watch time was up another 8.5% quarter over quarter and peak concurrent viewership had climbed above 7.2 million. YouTube is still the largest platform overall, but TikTok is the one adding audience the fastest.
Why it's rising
The growth isn't coming from gaming. Under 15% of TikTok LIVE's viewership is gaming content, the lowest share of any major platform. The engine is real life: chats, music, fashion, talk and IRL streams that anyone with a phone can start. That low barrier is the point. No capture card, no PC, no back catalogue, just you, live.
What it means for creators
TikTok has leaned into LIVE as a growth engine, saying creators earn on the order of $10 million a day through the feature, with much of it going to smaller creators rather than only the top of the leaderboard. Every day, more than a million viewers send gifts. For the first time, a creator can start from zero on a phone and build a real, recurring income from a room of regulars.
That is exactly the window we exist for. A rising platform rewards the people who show up early and treat it as a craft, not a lottery ticket. The audience is already here and still growing. The only question is who shows up to meet it.
The best time to go live was a year ago. The second best time is tonight.
